Gary Craig EFT

"Emotional Freedom Technique - Amazing, Fast, Affective"
-by Roseanna Ellis

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a form of energy Medicine that was developed by Gary Craig, a Stamford Engineer. EFT is the most unbelievable healing technique that has become a powerful tool for the relief of emotional and physical pain, fears, phobias, grief, anxiety, and a host of other problems. It often works when nothing else does. The wonder of this technique is that it is simple, fast, extremely affective and gentle. It can be performed on anyone at any age, and with training the lay person can perform this technique on themselves.

Energy Healing has been the basis of medical treatment in eastern cultures for over 5,000 years. Electric pathways were discovered thousands of years ago by the Chinese. These currents relay messages to the brain that control all our functions on both a physical and emotional level. Meridians are the energy centers along this circuit. EFT is based on the revolutionary use of acupuncture or acupressure points without the use of needles. Instead you use your fingertips to gentle tap certain meridian points on the face, hands, fingers and chest area, while you focus on the issue you want resolved.

Gary states that “all negative emotions cause a disruption in the body's energy flow. Einstein stated many years ago that all matter is actually energy. Quantum physics states that thoughts generate emotions. Emotions create the release of chemicals and hormones. This in turn affects the energy system that can affect matter (the body). We see this happen in a stressful situation.

Your perception of harm (stress) triggers the brain to activate the sympathetic nervous system (SNS). The brain reacts by activating the fight or flight alarm. Chemicals are spontaneously released which cause a cascade of physical reactions. The blood is re-routed from the frontal brain, and visceral organs except for the heart, and is rushed to the primitive hind brain and the extremities in preparation for action. Shunted blood from the stomach is why we get stomach aches during stress or fear. The lack of clear thinking is due to the inadequate amount of blood in the fore-brain.

The brain does not know the difference between a real event or just the memory of it. Neither does it have any concept of time. A traumatic incident may have occurred yesterday or 50 years ago, but brain will continue to releases stress chemicals according to your perception of the traumatic memory, whether physical or emotional.

When an issue is resolved through EFT, the memory of the incident remains but the negative charge associated with it disappears. It also appears to deactivate the SNS, the fight or flight response, and activates the parasympathetic nervous system which calms the brain by releasing a chemical called serotonin. The energy system becomes cleared and healing takes place. With some issues the results are spontaneous and permanent, but with other more severe issues the process may have to be repeated a few times.

The practitioners of EFT, Chinese Medicine and Quantum Physics scientists strongly agree that “where the mind goes, the body follows”.

Change the mind, and you change the body.
